Hofstra University Overview
Located in the Village of Hempstead, New York, Hofstra University is just about an hour’s drive east of New York City. Originally established in 1935 as the Nassau College – Hofstra Memorial of New York University, the college later became independent of NYU and it was renamed to Hofstra College, then it became a university in 1963.
